Two Bands of Gold
Council streets back alley meets,
sirens ring aloud.
The Good ol' days seem far away,
but not for this ol' pair.
Their wrinkled hands locked in romance,
as they dance through the night.
No money or fame to add to their name,
but their walls are filled with legacy.
I've often asked, why the world looks so dark?
With deceit and enmity.
The world rushes by, but they dance through the night.
This ol' pair, have it all.
Through sickness and pain, love faithfully reigns,
with every needle and pill she’s forced to give.
With tired eyes, She can tell he tries,
to smile to say 'Thank you dear'
To have and to hold,
Two bands of gold
